Where is UKIP?

We haven't mentioned UKIP for a while because we have seen very little happen recently.

The only person we see in the press doing something appears to be the ex-Farage sychophant Nikki Sinclaire MEP (who has since fallen out with her Leader and is standing as an Independent) and seems to be earning her money. As for the rest, who knows?

Interestingly, many UKIP members are also turning on their Leader, as shown by his recent defeat of 2 to 1 against his PEP Membership Proposal.

How can the Leader of UKIP think it viable and acceptable to want to remain part of, and actively participate in, the very entity which it originally swore to extricate itself from???

"Jobs for the Boys" spring to mind yet again.

If only UKIP was led by a (Congressman) Ron Paul type, Uncorruptable, Defender of the Rule of Law, devout follower of the Constitution and a belief in "Real Money" and tight Monetary Control.

Surely UKIP members must see, that its MEPs have been corrupted by the allure of the EU bribe - even John Bufton MEP was caught on camera 2 years ago for claiming his Parliamentary Attendance Allowance on a Friday, when the Parliament doesn't sit - and we thought he was one of the most honest and moral of the bunch.

Unless someone of vision steps forward soon and is supported by UKIP members and the general public at large, we shall all be entrapped by the EU Tyranny.

Will Our Civil Rights Be Removed Today?

We must ask the reason why?

Has the Government decided that it needs "The People" to call for more draconian laws and measures to "defeat these anarchists and looters" and by allowing them to rampage through our cities such a call is more likely.

This will enable Government to introduce measures to restrict our civil rights so that when responsible people in future wish to demonstrate, they will not be allowed to do so.

The UK Government will make these decisions today, lets see what happens.

You heard it here first and we hope we are wrong.

Why Are We Surprised At The Riots?

Firstly, let us say that we believe rioting and commiting vandalism and theft is wrong as well as illegal.

However, we are not surprised it is happening.

When:

MEPs can claim the same amount of money per day for attending the European Parliament that a single unemployed person receives from the State in a month

Over 3 million people are unemployed and in reality more than 7 million are not working (and rising) who are elligible to work, and have very little possibility of finding a job for years to come let alone months

The Prime Minister and Chancellor say "We are in this together" and then have 3 holidays in 6 months - each one costing in a week more than an average worker earns in 26 weeks.

The Government threatens to reduce Social Security Payments further while offering little opportunity for people to get back into work - who are further hit by rising food and utility prices

Pension Funds have been robbed, Banks refuse to lend and pay their leaders millions of pounds for running their businesses (and the country) into the ground

How can we be surprised people are unhappy with their current situation. We believe the rioting will increase and spread further. The Prime Minister threatening harsh punishments will not deter them - after all they feel they have nothing further to lose.

Before some bright spark says, well you can vote for a different Party, - no we cannot, they are all from the same mould without exception. So where and how are peoples frustration going to be vented?
On the streets - its sad, its tragic, but its understandable.

People have to throw out our elitist leaders, promote those who know what it is like to live "in the real world" and support those individuals who are prepared to put their Country First and not their own Careers and Bank Balances.

Dow Jones Collapse Is Predictable and Continuing

We have been inundated with calls from colleagues asking us if we were aware of the Dow Jones Collapse by over 600 points today.

Frankly it does not take a genius to predict it.

As soon as the "debt ceiling" was raised, enabling the Federal Reserve to Print even more fiat money to bail out (short term) Obamas disasterous management of the US economy, we predicted a massive fall on Wall Street and a continuing downward spiral of the value of the dollar.

To be fair, the rot set in with Clinton, worsened by Bush and continued further by Obama.

The knock on effect will damage Europe too - putting pressure on the Euro - and those Countries like Greece which should never have been allowed to enter the Euro in the first place.

Not to worry though, Cameron will soon be back from his 3rd Holiday this year and all will be well. Mmmmm perhaps not.

Why is no-one asking Clegg the right Question?

We watched the Andrew Marr show this morning listening to Clegg claiming the powerful influence he has over the Tories by being part of the coalition.

What rubbish.

Interviewers should ask the question - why would he have any less influence if he just held the balance of power and 'negotiated' each piece of legislation?

In this way it would be more transparent to the British Public and would not tie the Lib Dems so closely to the Conservatives.

All Lib Dems should insist that their Party comes out of the Coalition before they are annihilated at the next General Election.

By the way, Clegg's undertaking that he would never accept a Tory Peerage in the future may prove as honest as (Lord) Kinnock and (Lord) Prescott's undertakings to abolish the House of Lords.

Why Clegg MUST RESIGN NOW!

We wrote previously how Clegg has betrayed his Party with his coalition with the Tories and his Party will Pay the Price.

Well May 5th was the first such example: 651 Council seats across England lost; the Party came 4th in Scotland; and was battered severely in Wales. The worst results for over 30 years.

Party President Simon Hughes admitted that the defeat in Sheffield was "due to the Leader's unpopularity".

Paddy Ashdown is also briefing against Clegg and so are a number of other senior Lib Dems.

We predicted that this would happen, and unless Clegg goes now and the Party withdraws from the coalition and judge each motion on its merit, worse will come in the General Election.

All Lib Dem MPs must search their consciences and eject their leader, for the good of the Country, their Party and their own futures.

Why is UKIP still failing to make Political Advances despite Market Conditions?

We have a Government that is about to become more unpopular than Thatchers did in the late 70's/early 80's.

We have a Third Party tied inextricably by the apron strings to this unpopular Government

We have an Opposition that has just left power much hated and ridiculed.

The Western World is facing potential economic collapse

Unemployment is Soaring

Incomes are falling

Prices are rising

and UKIP is failing to make any significant headway politically.

How Come?????

It has more MEPs than it ever had
It has more TV coverage than it ever had
It has more dedicated sycophants than it ever had
It has better websites and marketing than it ever had
It has more money (thanks to Stuart Wheeler) than it ever had

and yet its progress is at best mundane if not non-existant.

In America the likes of Donald Trump and Congressman Ron
Paul are achieving great advances and publicity in a similar environment.

Yet UKIP is still struggling. Why?

The Political System? - No
Uninterested Public - No
Media Bias? - No

Try the following:

MEPs more interested in claiming their expenses abroad than spreading the message in the UK;

Poor quality Candidates chosen for High Office to make the Leader 'Look Good' in comparison;

A Leader embroiled in numerous allegations of Corruption, Nepotism and Control Freakery;

No Clear, Concise Message or Blueprint for the British Public showing the way forward;

A Party willing to sit in Europe with Fascists, Dictatorships and other Fringe Elements.

UKIP should be Soaring but is instead floundering and embroiled in bitter in-fighting.

At the end of the day, there is only one person to blame:

NIGEL FARAGE MEP - Its Leader.

"Lib Dems has not lost its Identity" - REALLY?

When the Lib Dems formed their alliance with the Tories, we stated that this is the end of their identity and future prospects. If the Alliance policies go well, the Tories will take the credit. If they go badly, the Lib Dems will be blamed for supporting such a 'rotten' Government.

Their Alliance was a Lose/Lose situation.

Clegg could have exercised more power by being the Party that decides the outcome in a hung Parliament. Instead, he jumped for Office and personal grandisement. His Party has and will continue to pay the price for his personal and political enrichment.

At the Spring Party Conference Clegg told delegates "I haven't been kidnapped by David Cameron. I haven't changed one bit". We believe him. He is not a true Lib Dem following traditional Liberal values with a social bent. He is as much a Tory in our view, as Cameron himself. His birthright, upbringing, and political apprenticeship supports this.

He is no more Lib Dem than Tony Blair was Traditional Labour.

Its time his Party woke up to this fact and eject him and remove themselves from the coalition as quickly as possible. Otherwise, it will be another 100 years or so before they taste power again.

NUS have the Right Strategy and more Groups should follow

Those interested in politics often debate what should one do in the event that they have been betrayed by those politicians who break their word.

There are many avenues open, but without doubt, one of the most efficient strategies is to mount various groupings to actively campaign in the constituencies in which individual MPs (and MEPS) have lied.

The NUS plans announced yesterday to lobby against Nick Clegg and other leading Lib Dems in their own constituencies to ensure they are not re-elected is absolutley 'spot on'. They misled students over University Fees and should pay the price. Prior to, and during, election campaigns the NUS should 'draft in' hundreds, yes hundreds of their members into the constituency and show that community the strength of feeling against their elected member.

Leaflets/newsletters, should be printed now and despatched on a monthly basis. MP surgery's should be massively attended showing the MP the strength of feeling against him/her. Poster campaigns (OK it costs money but this can be raised) should be adopted. Make the MP the figure of ridicule where-ever he or she goes - and the failure of just 1 not to get re-elected will send a very clear warning to all MPs and Party Leaders that they should not take the electorate for granted or treat them as fools.

The Lib Dems leadership betrayed the electorate over student fees. They have swallowed their principles to gain power (and use the excuse of working together). They have proven to be a hypocritical Party no different from the others.

They should be brought down now so that a space is left for a new and genuine Party to rise and 'fill the gap'.

We thought this Party once, should be UKIP, but we can see that the leadership there too has swallowed its principles and gone native. Led, by the much disliked and distrusted Nigel Farage, their MEPs are living off the Hog and enjoying their 'new found' Euro Wealth and have done little to truly represent the people who placed them there. (You only have to ask some of their own MEPs who have recently fallen out with their Leader).

No, UKIP is not the answer, but once we remove the 'Third Party' a New one will emerge, and in view of the dishonesty of the others, lets hope it happens quickly.

UKIP at the Appeal Court Today

Today, the unbelievable situation in the Appeal Court, is the consideration as to whether UKIP should pay in excess of £750,000 or not.

This situation could have been avoided had Nigel Farage MEP and Andrew Smith (the then Treasurer) co-operated with the Electoral Commission rather than make them their enemy.

We have little doubt that The Court of Appeal will legislate aganst UKIP and this could be the end of the Party.

We shall know very soon. Farage and Smith should resign immediately should the judgement go against UKIP, but it may be too late to prevent the Party going into Bankruptcy.

Prescott to Accept Peerage

Former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has announced that he will accept a Peerage offered under the 'Dissolution Honours'.

He said on the Radio 4's Today Programme that he is accepting the Peerage because he 'wants to influence environmental policy'.

Mmmm did he not say in the past that he would not follow the likes of Neil Kinnock into the Lords (who himself disparaged its existence until he was offered a Peerage).

Its remarkable how these people change their views the minute the 'reward' is offered to them.

O well, we only have ourselves to blame for electing them in the first place.

Laws was right to resign regardless of how talented he may be.

Let every politician beware - we the public are watching them; and any hypocrisy, any dishonesty or any misleading of the public, should, and MUST, result in their departure.

Only then will the public begin to respect the political process and the people within it, once more.

Why Laws Must GO NOW!!!

We are not going to pass comment on David Laws sexuality.

We are not even going to pass comment as to whether we think that David Laws has cost the taxpayer more or less money by claiming for his accomodation, the way that he has.

We are not even going to pass comment on the Liberal Democrats Election Campaign against the Parliamentary expenses scandal.

What we will pass comment on however, is the way in which Laws is wriggling to attempt to save his political skin.

'But the rules remain unambiguous: MPs are forbidden from "leasing accommodation from a partner". Laws's defence currently relies on a highly technical definition of partner that may not satisfy either parliament or the media.

In his statement last night he said: "Although we were living together we did not treat each other as spouses. For example we do not share bank accounts and indeed have separate social lives." '

Sorry David, your story seems too far fetched. Some of us lived with our spouses and also did not share bank accounts and generally had separate social lives, especially when working in the media or politics.

You should do the honourable thing and say, you made a mistake and for the sake of your Party and the Coalition you resign immediately.

When will the day come when politicians will start thinking about others instead of themselves?

Is the EU Single Currency Truth now being told?

So, the people of Europe are now beginning to be told the truth. A single currency will affect peoples lives far wider than just the exchange rate benefit that was originally proffered.

Those of us who study these things knew it was a disaster waiting to happen.

UKIP Troops are rounding on Lord Pearson - they should also encircle Farage Too.

We recently speculated that Lord Pearson has resigned from UKIP but is keeping the resignation quiet for the time being.

We now hear of secret meetings being held by UKIP members to discuss (and rightfully condemn) his policy of supporting other Parties in the General Election.

Mike Nattrass MEP appears to be leading the revolt, but we are advised that a number of 'NO Confidence' votes are being scheduled throughout the Country over the next 2 weeks.

However, people seem to forget that the policy Pearson was following was originally suggested and endorsed by Farage.

People also seem to forget that Farage championed Lord Pearson as Leader, making it clear that the other candidates (some of his own MEPS) were not 'up to the job'.

When Pearson goes, then so should Farage too.

That will be the first step on UKIPs road to recovery - but a long road it will be.

The Next Labour Leader is : Miliband of Course !!!

Well, while Cameron and Clegg enjoy their honeymoon period and stare lovingly into each others eyes, a more down to earth and poigniant relationship is under way.

The next Labour leader will be a Miliband - the question is Ed or Dave? The other contenders do not come close and Balls appears as smug on camera as Portillo did in the old Tory Party days (though Portillo appears more acceptable now he is out of office).

The brothers have to beware. Each of them are equally ambitious and have their own strengths, but they must not damage each other to win the contest.

In our view, it won't make any difference who wins - as Labour will not be governed by the Leadership any more but by its own internal interested parties - and especially the Trade Unions - despite what is said in front of the camera.

Deals are being done for support, and it will cost the brothers dearly. However, if your whole life has been centred upon becoming Prime Minister (as Cameron has) you are likely to submit to any cost to achieve that goal. Whoever wins, and if the public ever trust Labour again, we will have another couple staring blissfully at each other and back slapping at the front of No 10.

Todays politicians have little conviction, and as we have seen with the expenses scandal, are bought off very cheaply. Its a shame and a disgrace, but interesting to watch nevertheless!

£6.2 bn in cuts - mmmm good start but not enough!!!

We have today seen the Chancellor announce cuts in Public Spending of a little over £6bn to take effect almost immediately.

However, the Government really needs to cut expenditure by at least ten times that figure. £6bn only just covers the interest charge on the deficit.

There will undoubtedly be a knock on effect:

Increase in unemployment

Reduction in Public Services

Potential delay in economic growth

The benefits are:

Increase in International Confidence that UK is dealing with debt problem

Fends off an attack by the Ratings Agencies of the UK debt - thereby reducing interest rates payable

However, when the next tranche of cuts arrive we shall be able to judge the relationship of the cuts in the Public Sector vs any growth in the Private Sector.

For us, the important cut is the reduction in Ministerial Cars, meaning most Ministers will have to rely on public transport. We look forward to them joining the real world as human beings, outside their rarified bubble of privilege and unreality.

BNPs Leader - Nick Griffin MEP to stand down in 2013

The BNP have issued the following statement:

The British National Party’s Advisory Council (AC) and other key figures of the party’s structure have completed a weekend of forward planning to overhaul and modernise the party as Nick Griffin MEP announced his intention to step down as leader by the end of 2013 to concentrate on his re-election campaign to the European Parliament.

We thought the BNP were against UK membership of the EU, and here we have its Leader wanting to focus on being re-elected. This is exactly what has happened at UKIP and the Tories in the Scottish and Welsh Assemblies/Parliaments.

Shame on them All!

Has UKIPs Leader Resigned?

We must add, this is only supposition at the moment.

The rumour doing the rounds is that Lord Pearson has resigned his leadership of UKIP and is hiding at Rannock on his Perthshire Estate, hoping no doubt, to be able to hide in a cloud of volcanic ash and not be able to fly back.

If this is the case, the difficulty is, who will replace him?

It may prove difficult for Farage to return as everyone realises that the policy of trying to help the Tories at the General Election was his - a repeat of the battle he had with Natrass and others at the previous General Election. (He may also not wish to be tainted should UKIP declare Bankruptcy after the Appeal hearing next month) but he must still control the Party. They surely would not want an election at this stage in case the wrong person wins.

We believe, that as Deputy Leader, Farage sock-puppet (No. 2) David Bannerman will be annointed as caretaker. If the ship sinks, he will be seen to have been at the helm. If successful, they may keep him in post, or more likely front someone more appealing and charismatic as Leader next year.

Either way, no real change at the top.

Is Sterling the Next Target?

We have seen the effect that market rumour, coupled with the activities of currency speculators and Hedge Funds have had on the Euro recently.

A cynic may speculate that a potentially weak currency whose country is experiencing some political turmoil is deliberately targetted by these people/institutions to make a few, or even tens, of Billions of dollars in speculative gains.

We are FREE MARKET supporters, but DO NOT accept that such markets should be allowed to be hijacked or manipulated in this way - as the only beneficiaries are a small handful of people.

We remember how George Soros made over a Billion Dollars back in the 90's betting against sterling. Since then, Institutions have refined the model, and, as we understand, have created a degree of market manipulation to enable even more vast profits to be made.

We believe Sterling is next.

The UK has: a relatively weak economy; a fragile New political alliance; committed itself to major Banking Reform; produced vast quantities of 'pounds' under the heading of 'quantitative easing'.

The budget deficit and potentially declining trade with Europe (due to the high value of sterling compared to the Euro)- our biggest export market, will be the excuse spread throughout International Markets.

These speculators are moving from Zone to Zone, so don't be surprised, and remember where you heard it first!

Are UKIP MEPs Banking on the Bankruptcy of the Party?

In early June the Appeal Court will decide whether the judgement made against UKIP concerning illegal donations is upheld or not.

If it is, UKIP could be facing a bill of around £1,000,000

We believe that with the departure of Stuart Wheeler, UKIP is unlikely to be able to pay the debt.

It has been suggested to us by Finance experts that the logical course of action is to allow the Party to go bust and then repurchase it from the Receiver at a 'knockdown' price

Now, we don't know whether the Electoral Commission would allow this (or can even stop it).

This has led us to speculate, whether UKIP MEPs have raised the money or not, they may let the Party fail owing significant debts and then repurchase it again. They may have to use a 'front man or woman' in order to distance themselves from it, thereby claiming no manipulation.

We would suggest that any other interested Parties should consider making the purchase themselves, and prevent the hapless, (and in our view), incompetent, existing MEPS to return; but to use the brand to develop a New re-invigorated Party with new people and a New UK Agenda based on winning seats through Segmentation, Targetting and Positioning as opposed to the current non-strategy of fighting all seats and squandering resources.

Did Clegg and Cameron have a choice?

Many Liberal Democrats meeting today were upset about the alliance with the Conservatives.

We ask the question however, did they have any choice?

The Party - Yes - but Clegg - No.

Under Clegg's leadership the Party lost seats. There were rumblings about replacing him. This alliance has, in our opinion saved his bacon.

Take the Tories, failing to obtain an overall majority - despite a long serving unpopular Government and a hapless, uninspiring, unelected sitting Prime Minister.

If they had failed to form a Government, Cameron, (we believe) was finished.

The 2 "twins" fate were entwined.

Now we have a Government where the Lib Dems will be absorbed by the Conservative Party providing Great Britain with a 2 Party State again. (Some conspiracy theorists believe we are in a 1 Party state and this is the conduit to formalise it).

The British people have been conned again. Please no-one mention UKIP. Our view is that UKIP is a Shadow Tory Party running to enrich a few select people and providing a depository for disenchanted Tories.

These êx-Tories (Eurosceptics) have been coralled into a Party, which

has zero chance of making any headway because of the unbelievable antics of its leadership. So their impact is neutralised.

Only when another Party comes along, with strong financial backing, an Incorruptable Leader, (not from the Political or Eton/Oxbridge Class) can the British people trust in Politics again.

The question is, does such a Person/Party exist?

UKIP MEPs are Revolting!!!

A quick review of the UKIP and anti UKIP blogs reveal that some UKIP MEPs are Revolting.

We understand that emails are circulating written by Mike Natrass and others heavily criticising the leadership of Lord Pearson and Nigel Farage for their General Election strategy and post election publicity.

It appears that boasting that UKIP has attracted a significant number of Tory Votes, thereby preventing Cameron from obtaining an overall majority in his own right, presents UKIP as a depository for disillusioned Tories; thereby alienating potential Labour supporters.

We have a tendency to agree.

But then thinking through what he says has never been a strong point of Nigel Farage nor, it appears, his sock-puppet Pearson.

We await developments.

Cameron is Prime Minister - UKIP Leadership Has failed its Members

Well at last the Conservatives have won power again after persuading the British Public (well a third of them) that they are no longer "The Nasty Party".

Cameron (an old Etonian) is Prime Minister - the youngest since 1812.

Once again we see the elite hand over power from one member to another.

They have also infiltrated UKIP - we don't want Lords running UKIP, we don't want Drunks and Immoral fools running UKIP we don't even want failed Tory MPs running UKIP. We have had enough of these types.

UKIP should have gained seats at this election!

UKIP should have focussed its efforts at this election!

UKIP should have held the Balance of Power at this election!

UKIP made no impact other than that made by Nigel's Plane.

What a waste - What a Disgrace!

Lord Pearson's former chums are now in Power - his job is now completed. We have little doubt he will return to them. If he doesn't then he should be kicked out anyway (in our humble opinion).

Time to bring in someone who does not want to make money out of politics!

Time to bring in someone who does not want to become a member of the political elite!

Time to bring in someone who wants UKIP members to win elections and become a credible force in British Politics!

Who is this person?

Labour at Last makes the Right Decision

Brown is to go.

No deal with the Lib Dems.

This is the only way, Labour can survive.

Allow the Tories and Lib Dems to form their unholy pact and there will be another General Election within 12 months against what will then be, an unpopular Coalition Government.

We are not saying that we want Labour to win that election, but by walking away, they stand an outside chance of doing so - its the only option they have.

For the rest of us, the demise of Gordon Brown and New Labour is the best news in over 13 years.

UKIPs General Election Results - A Disaster

While we all await the 'behind closed doors' deal making of Clegg, Cameron and Brown, we thought we should briefly review the electoral perfomance of UKIP.

Zero Seats

914,154 Votes

3.08% share of the vote

0.87% increase on previous General Election.

A most appalling result considering the Party had 13 MEPs to promote it around the Country.

Now compare this to the Greens:

285,616 Votes

0.96% share of the Vote

1 Seat

or Plaid Cymru:

165,394 Votes

0.56% share of the Vote

3 Seats

The point we are making is that it is all to do with targetting.

All military Generals know that you should focus maximum resources at your enemies weakest point.

Yet UKIP spreads itself so thinly, it will never achieve a break-through. Yet this point is raised again and again but is ignored.

UKIPs former leader Nigel Farage came 3rd in a Constituency where the 2 main parties weren't standing. How much was spent on that election?

Do we not remember another major failed attempt costing scores of thousands some 5 years ago.

Until UKIP gets rid of its current Leadership, banish Nigel Farage to Europe and bring in people who understand electoral strategy - it will CONTINUE TO FAIL.

Do The Tories really Rule UKIP?

Well its been 11 months since our last post as we wanted to see how UKIP would fare after its fortunate electoral success in the EU elections last year.

Let's be under no illusion. The UKIP leadership, prior to the expenses scandal, would have been happy with 6 MEPS. Good fortune fell their way and they achieved 13. Well one would have expected UKIP to have capitalised on this, but instead, their Treasurer (Marta Andreasen) resigned her post and Nikki Sinclaire a formidable and prominent new MEP has been ostracised because she did not wish to share political alleigances with extreme right wing facists.

Hardly a good start.

The worst move however was the election of Lord Pearson to the position of Leader.

A former Tory Grandee and the favourite of the ex-Leader Nigel Farage is now campaigning in this election against his own members. We believe that Pearson is Nigel's 'sock-puppet' carrying out the policy that we believe Mr Farage has always wanted to follow (remember his falling out with a former UKIP MEP Robert Kilroy Silk over a similar issue?)

Now lets be clear, there is a logical strategy for not standing against candidates who demand that the UK should pull out of the EU and who pledge, to always vote for such, regardless of their own Party Policy. However, to our knowledge, the majority of people Lord Pearson is supporting have not given such an emphatic undertaking.

There is another issue too. UKIP has claimed that the other Parties are 'not to be trusted' because of the expenses scandal. Well if that is the case, we can think of no more a compelling argument for UKIP to stand up in its own right as an Independent Political Party and take on the establishment head on.

Logical - Yes?

Well not, if as we believe, UKIP has been developed over the years by Mr Farage to be a mere repository for malcontent anti-EU Tories with no real intention of ever winning politcal power. We see this through Mr Farage's appalling personal and amateurish political behaviour, in addition to ridding the Party of those serious in making UKIP honest, transparent and therefore electable.

What a shame - If ever UKIP's time has come - it is NOW!!!

We were intrigued to read A former UKIP NEC member - Dr Eric Edmond - accusing UKIP Leader Nigel Farage of lying and deception.

If his comments are true, can the British People really vote for UKIP on Thursday?

I returned to the UK in time to see last night's Question Time with the great leader in a minor supporting role to the star of the show, Daniel Hanaan.

Hanaan has led the fight to publish MEP expenses. Farage has not. Why not? Because he has had his snout in the trough, employed his wife and did not want his expenses published. His statement that he will publish receipts for his expense funded expenditure is not good enough. Dimbelby should have said that the electorate were surely entitled to know these facts before the 4th of June election when Farage was asking for their votes.

Farage again trotted out his imaginary tale of a UKIP meeting being stormed by a BNP member as part of a publicity stunt. He was clearly alluding to the NEC meeting of 3rd November which was attended by UKIP member Buster Mottram. When the BNP membership list was later placed in the public domain I could not find Mr Mottram's name on it.

I believe that in the late 70s Mr Mottram was a member of the NF. This was known to Mr Farage whom I believe described it as a 'youthful indiscretion' and approved Mr Mottram's UKIP membership presumably because of Mr Mottram's high media profile as a former British number one tennis player.

I was at the meeting of 3rd Nov and my recollection of the events are as follows. Mr Mottram had written to the Party Chairman in September or earlier requesting an audience with the NEC. Chairman Nuttall phoned me prior to the scheduled October NEC meeting for my views.

I replied that the NEC should always briefly see any UKIP member who wished to address us on UKIP matters. Nuttall then cancelled the October meeting at short notice citing that some members were unable to attend. (What he meant was they did not have sufficient votes on 6th October to kick me off the NEC!)

On 3rd Nov at 2:00 Del Young & I entered the first floor room at the Farmer's Club, Whitehall Court where the meeting was due to be held. Buster Mottram was sat on Martin Haslam's left with David Abbott sat on Martin's right. I sat down next to David with Del on my right. Farage & Nuttall arrived shortly afterwards and sat at the head of the table. (Farage and his cabal habitually have a preliminary meeting at the hotel next door prior to the NEC. David, Del and I were of course never invited!)

It is quite simply a lie to say Mottram stormed the meeting. He did no such thing.

There was some debate about whether we should listen to Mottram and whom Nuttall had phoned re Mottram's attendance which I found confusing as he was referring to phone calls made 6 weeks previously for the October meeting. Martin said Mottram was there as a witness to his phone call from a jounalist from the Independent newspaper. This was a scandalous entrapment of Martin by Farage who had set up the whole thing with the jounalist so he, Farage, could accuse Martin of disloyalty.

Later in the meeting I forced Farage to admit his sordid scheme and when he did I called his actions despicable and left. David, Martin and Mottram also left with me. At the same time the police arrived. Mottram was not ejected. He left of his own free will. Del left about 5 minutes later.

Mottram did testify to the spoof phone call to Martin and then challenged Farage about employing his wife at a large salary in direct contradiction of stated UKIP policy. Mottram then made some proposal of an electoral alliance with the BNP which was unanimously rejected. Denny, Zuckerman, Oxley and Duffy became increasingly agitated and hysterical. Nuttall completely lost control. There was no storming of the meeting as Farage stated.

That Farage fabricates stories on the hoof is seen by his claim on QT that full details of his expenses are available on the Open Europe website. I could find no such records and neither it seems could Anthony Butcher and others of Democracy Forum. Farage claimed one of the UKIP candidates deselected, i.e. me, had advocated supporting another party in the June elections. I never said this. What I did say in mid Dec 2008, after a meeting between Farages representive Malcolm Wood concerning Libertas and my local committee, a meeting at which I only spoke once to advocate support for Trevor Colman and the SW UKIP campaign, was that if the general feeling was to cooperate with Libertas I would not oppose it. At that time it was common knowledge that Farage was in discussions with Ganley concerning a joint campaign and in January, one month later, one of Farage's assistants registered with the Electoral Commission a party called Libertas UK!It is a complete lie that I advocated supporting Libertas.

My view was that if Farage and his cabal wanted to have some sort of joint campaign with Libertas I would go not oppose it. He had done this in Ireland with Ganley and frequently crowed about his contribution to the successful Ganley campaign against the Lisbon treaty. Farage was the one pushing the Libertas link not me. The proposed link died when Ganley saw through Farage.

I confidently predict Farage's expenses will never be made public in the same detail and over the same period as our MPs recently have been in the Telegraph. If they were Farage would suffer the same fate as these MPs like Hogg etc.

Will UKIP be exposed before June 4th?

Well, who said a 'week is a long time in politics'?

Two weeks ago, UKIP looked as if it was heading downwards to retaining 3 or 4 MEP seats. Last week as a direct result of the MPs expenses scandal (not because of anything UKIP has done) it looked as if 15 or more UKIP MEPs would be elected.

This week, because of Mr Farage's arrogance and willingness to boast about his expenses, it is quite possible that even the 3 or 4 seats may be in jeopardy.

We have the Sun, Mirror, Guardian starting to reveal what fellow UKIP members already knew. UKIP MEPs had gone native and many were taking advantage of the lax expenses regime. What has proved revealing however, is UKIP MEPs votes against increased transparency and declaration of expenses. We wonder why?

Much now depends on the media. It may still strike UKIP lightly for fear of a BNP upsurge, but decent journalists (yes there are some) cannot allow someone as hypocritical as Mr Farage to get away with condemning greedy MPs when he himself has claimed some £2million (as reported in the media).

The next few days will prove crucial.

We Are So Worrying UKIP and its supporters, we are Now Being Framed

It's interesting to see, that having proved critical of UKIP's behaviour under Nigel Farage's leadership, that we are now being framed, by person or persons unknown, which has been picked up by Mr Mark Croucher, to whom we are extremely grateful for bringing this to our attention.

I refer to today's post by Mr Croucher on the British Democracy Forum (http://www.democracyforum.co.uk/ukip-general-issues/61100-bit-more-about-political-gossip-uk.html) underlying the accusation (perfectly understandable why this mistake is made) that we, and whoever is posting under the guise of Political Gossip UK on Stormfront, are the same people. WE ARE NOT.

If we supported the views that our impersonator advocates then we would post it on this blog too and say so. But we do not. This is without doubt a set-up by parties who are clearly worried about the effect we are having on public opinion about UKIP and its Leader Nigel Farage MEP.

It is extremely sad that in politics these 'dirty tricks' are adopted and like the other Political Parties, UKIP are no stranger to them either (e.g. the video release of John West's media training interview on UTube and the departure in recent years of more than 8 NEC members who left in disgust or dispute with the Party).

This is exactly what we are fighting to clean up. UKIP was supposed to be different from the other Parties - and yet it has mired itself in the same filth. If it had not, it could now be rising high and adopting the 'moral high ground' on the 'expenses issue' which has so gripped this Nation. Instead, like most of the other Parties it lies low and hope that they too are not investigated too closely.

So to repeat, we TOTALLY DISASSOCIATE Ourselves from whomever is using our name on the StormFront publication and if we have anything to say, we will say it here. We hope that Mr Croucher will continue to read these extreme right wing publications and let us know should anyone else take our name in vain.

No Prize For Booker Today!

Christopher Booker published whole hearted support for Marta Andreason and her newly launched book about EU Finances in the Telegraph on 9th May.

Well Mr Booker, if you did a little research, rather than be blinded by the 'Glamour' of having been allowed to address UKIP Conferences and 'plug your wares' you may have noticed all is not what it seems.

Rather than go into detail here, an excellent resume has been written on caterpillarsandbutterflies - which addresses most of the issues.

It is disappointing to us, that Mr Booker should support someone who has recently been parachuted into UKIP (a Party which has major internal divisions about its own financial reporting and accountability, with a former MEP having been jailed for 'fraud', another under arrest, and numerous OLAF enquiries opened about other incidents) with a view to a seat on 'the gravy train'.

Mr Booker, you have to date been a true fighter for liberation from EU Diktat and you have based that on meticulous research, but we feel you have somewhat blotted your copybook with this article, and please remember, 'Your Enemies Enemy is not always Your Friend.'

Farage Fibs on Andrew Marr Show

Having watched Andrew Marr questioning Nigel Farage this morning, we were surprised at the very easy time Mr Marr continues to give the leader of UKIP. We are seriously beginning to wonder whether Marr has 'lost his bite' and should continue to be allowed to 'front' a so-called Political News Program. Perhaps the BBC should employ a recent graduate at a tenth of the cost of Marr, who can put benign, non-confrontational questions just as easily as he can - after all, we all have to cut costs these days.

Now to the point of this post. Mr Farage, yet again claims on National TV that his Party (under his leadership) deals with problems like his 3 now departed 'errant MEPs' quickly and decisively. Really? There was no decisive action taken against Tom Wise. Tom Wise allowed his membership of UKIP to lapse. Tom Wise resigned from the Ind Dem Group (of which Farage is Chairman). There was no cull, no Committee of Expulsion, no sackings. In fact, many UKIP insiders believe that Nigel was 'frightened to weald the axe' in case Tom Wise 'spilled the beans'on him.

So lets get real. Mr Farage, the sound bite might sound good, but it impresses no-one in the know. You claim that UKIP stands for Truth and Honesty. Mmmmm - then lets see some practiced please.

Searchlight - Croucher - UKIP Databases ?????

We recently commented on the actions of Mark Croucher and his involvment with UKIP databases/emails when apparently he is not employed or engaged by UKIP and therefore a potential breach of the Data Protection Act has occurred.

More concerning however has been his past involvment with an extreme 'left wing' organisation called Searchlight. In previous correspondence, Mr Croucher admitted that he had used this organisation to vet certain members whom he believed to be possible 'right wing' infiltrators. Certain UKIP members are suspicious that this organisation is being used for other 'deviant' activity.

Nevertheless, according to our sources, it transpires, that having landed UKIP in potential trouble as a result of publishing information on the British Democracy Forum about his latest entrapment exercise involving 'misleading emails' and Mr Piers Merchant, a former UKIP member has been approached to help deal with the mess that has been created.

Although we have not substantiated this, we suspect this former member to be Mr Rob McWhirter, who currently resides in Switzerland having previously resigned from UKIP in disgust. It would on the surface make sense, as Mr McWhirter is, we believe, somewhat of a techno-wizard, but to approach him, in view of his resignation, UKIP must realise that they are in a desperate position. We could of course be wrong but we are aware that an approach has been made to an 'overseas' ex member.

Internal War at UKIP and Possible illegal Actions

Well what a day today has been.

We knew that when Mark Croucher admitted that his pubs had failed (no shame in that if it was purely down to our politically mis-managed economic environment) he would be spending more time on UKIP matters. But we had no idea the storm he was going to create and the potential for landing UKIP 'in the Dock' again.

Let us explain:

On the British Democracy Forum this morning, Mark Croucher reveals that he 'set a trap' in order to reveal the identity of the 'UKIP Leadership thorn in the side' Junius. This was based around the sending of 'false emails' (for the purposes of entrapment, and unencrypted - more on this later) in the knowledge that a blind copy was allegedly being sent to Piers Merchant (former Tory MP and UKIP MEP - Roger Knapman assistant).

This information was apparantly 'leaked' to Junius and Greg Lance Wakins; Mark Croucher has come to the conclusion therefore, that Junius must be Piers Merchant' and this, to some degree, was supported by NEC member Douglas Denny.

At the same time, Mark Croucher publishes a report from the Information Commissioners Office (under the terms of the DPA), criticising UKIP for its 'shoddy' (our words) security over data and insisting on a number of steps UKIP must take or action will be taken against them. One such stipulation was that all sensitive data must be sent encrypted - yet MC admits the emails were despatched - unencrypted - BREACH.

It would also seem from details in his original posting, that they have also mailed their entire database 'willy nilly' without encryption subsequent to the serious warning given.

But this next bit is even more interesting.

Mark Croucher admits that he is not employed or paid by UKIP presently (and on previous postings that he is not a member of UKIP). So we ask 'Why has Mark Croucher been given access to UKIP's data and computer systems?' - is this not in breach of the Data Protection Act? - and runs contrary to the recent warning mentioned above?

Now we have to admit, we are not lawyers, and we are not waking our solicitor up at this time for his opinion, as it would cost us around £500, but we think UKIP may have broken the Law here!

Musings at Yesterday's Budget

Well its 02.00 on Thursday 23rd April and a quick check of all of the UK political websites show the individual Political Parties response to Darling's Budget - all except UKIP. Even the BNP have issued its views and yet UKIP (the 'Third/Fourth Force' in British politics) says nothing - O well, perhaps they are waiting for Nigel to get out of the pub to give his percieved wisdom - after all, its still early isn't it?

Well, we have just a few comments to make, and perhaps UKIP can copy them to save them making it up on their own:

1. Total government debt will double to 79% of GDP by 2013 - the highest level since the Second World War. The annual budget deficit will rise sharply to £175bn for the next two years

Assuming Darling's figures are correct (and they haven't been so far) we can see considerable devaluation of the £, hyper-inflation in a couple of years and much higher taxation levels than currently experienced.

New World Order Consipracy Advocates will see this as a deliberate attempt to ruin the currency and economy, with a view to the development of a single World Currency, Bank and Government - who knows?

2. A new 50p tax rate for earnings over £150,000.

This is just a token gesture - it will bring in a pittance - but Brown believes will obtain good headlines - as even the wealthy will pay.

Wrong, most will be able to avoid this via clever accounting techniques, but worse still, Brown has broken a General Election Pledge - not to raise Direct Taxation. This, coupled with the false promise for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, means that election pledges mean nothing - Yes that will certainly instill confidence in our Political system.

3. Fuel duty will increase by 2p per litre in September and then by 1p a litre above inflation each April for the next four years.

The further development of a 'carbon tax' protecting our environment. Most informed individuals do not believe this 'global warming' scam, but nevertheless, we will all have to pay for it - roll on the electric/solar car. The problem is, while oil is only $50 a barrel, Brown can get away with it. What happens if it rises to $150 + again?

4. Mr Darling confirmed the economy would shrink by 3.5% in 2009, with a forecast of 1.25% growth next year rising to 3.5% in 2011.

Well, we may agree with the first figure, but the rest is fantasy land. Unemployment will continue to rise for at least 12 months. Manufacturing hardly exists, unless it is heavily subsidised, and the City is in turmoil. It certainly suits Labour to suggest that the economy will improve once the General Election is over, as it provides promise before hand, and should the Conservatives win, not achieving these figures, will be blamed on them - quite simple really.

There is more to add, but the BBC and Press will cover most of the points. We feel, that while in the short-term, the borrowing will alleviate some of the worst effects of the Depression, it will cause considerable pain for the UK Economy for the next 5 - 10 years (if not longer). There are hard times ahead and we do not believe there is one Political Party currently in the UK that is able, or sufficiently competent to deal with, the disaster, this Labour Government has considerably contributed to, if not caused.

It's 02.20 and still no comment from UKIP - must be a 'sit-in'.

UK First Party (UKFP) - a Serious Party or just Fantasy?

The recent launch of the UKFP excited many of our staff, as we thought that perhaps here was a genuine alternative, to the now much beschmirched, UKIP.

However, weeks after its launch, there has been little publicity, a poor website created and the 'founding member' - Bruce Lawson - on holiday at time of launch and little seen since.

Whilst much has been made of Robin Page standing in the Eastern Region for the European Elections in June, the proposed candidate (Petrina Holdsworth - as confirmed on the British Democracy Forum) for the South East has garnered much less publicity. Bearing in mind the 'brave' stance she has taken to stand in the same area as UKIP's Leader Nigel Farage MEP, we expected to see much more made of this than has currently been forthcoming.

We at Political Gossip UK certainly hope she does not repeat her performance as shown at the UKIP Leadership election and pull out of the running at the last moment - as this would certainly call into question UKFP's ability to fulfill its announced intentions, and call into question, as to whether it is a serious Political Party or not - not to mention any embarassment it may cause Ms Holdsworth herself.

Our feeling at the moment is that its 'shadow leader' Bruce Lawson is not up to the job and has launched this Party prematurely, as little appears to be in place. Admittedly, Libertas is in a similar position, save that its owner does have a few million pounds to throw at it, should he desire, - we are, as yet uncertain, as to whether Bruce Lawson is in a similar position.

If the UKFP is not serious in its intent, it is better off 'out of the way', otherwise it needs to undertake some action pretty quickly, if it is to come close to achieving its published aims.

We shall watch this space closely!!!

What is Stuart Wheeler Really Up To?

Well Stuart Wheeler is donating £100,000 to UKIP and has urged Tory's to vote UKIP at the Euro elections. However, he plans to remain a member of the Conservative Party and to vote Conservative at the Local and General Election.

So, what is he up to?

Well, watching him on the Politics Show today, he admitted that MEPs have no power (and therefore the vote is not that important to governance) and that all he wishes to do is to send a message to the 2 main Parties of how 'important' the issue of Europe really is, in the hope, that Cameron (in particular) changes his stance on Europe, moving towards a more Eurosceptic/withdrawalist position.

(Not forgetting he also mentioned that his family admit he is vain and garnishes publicity from time to time - where else could one get so much media coverage for only £100,000?).

So what does this say about UKIP? Well, the £100,000 will be useful (providing the Leader spreads it around the Regions and not 'hog it' for the South East only), but lets admit, this is no ringing endorsement for the Party. Rather than be seen a a 'Real Political Party' with ambitions for power to change the way this country is run, Wheeler sees UKIP merely as a 'Pressure Group' against the Tories.

So, despite his much covered media exposure, Nigel Farage has failed to convince any serious minded individual that UKIP is worth voting for, other than to act as a 'Protest Vote' - GREAT - well done UKIP - you've come far in the last 3 years. If the BNP were not so embroiled in a history of Racism, we are confident, the money would be going to them.

We are concerned nevertheless, that Mr Wheeler, allegedly a 'man of principle,' is prepared to support a Party like UKIP, so mired in allegations of 'corruption and wrongdoing' as reported in the media. However, he did say during the TV interview, that he regarded the issue of Europe as 'more important than anything else' - so perhaps he is happy to turn a blind eye. On refelction, this must be the case, as he was happy to endorse a Party embroiled in Cash for Questions and Minster's infedility and 'Swords of Truth' perjury's etc etc.

It's a pity though that he is clearly not well read on the subject of UKIP's actions -. Derek Clarke signing for greater subsidiarity in the EU and Nigel Farage calling for a 'new approach to Europe' - hardly a withdrawalist position.

However, we do see some Shinnanagins in the background. We understand that Iain Dale is callling for Stuart Wheeler to be 'kicked out' of the Tory Party for his 'treason'. Mmmmmm. Iain Dale knows full well that all this is likely to achieve, is the driving of Mr Wheeler into the hands of UKIP - the Leader of which is a 'close friend' of Iain Dale.

After all, we were all confused in this office at Mr Dale's effusive comments towards Nigel Farage - but we understand that a few meals and drinks together have placed these 2 individuals at a different 'operating level'. According to a Nigel Farage critic, 'Nigel was never fussy about the company he kept'.

However, Mr Wheeler, we at Political Gossip UK believe you are mistaken in supporting UKIP on the grounds that it is not the Party you think it is, and if you wish to send Cameron a message, then arrange a lunch with him and 'thrash out' your differences. Meanwhile, let's all watch and see how well UKIP spends your money.

Let's be generous and forget about the accusations levied by Party members and ex-members of dictatorial/psychopathic rule by Mr Farage and his Cabal.

Let's be generous and forget about the Funders, Peers, MP's, MEP's and Economists who once supported UKIP and now want nothing to do with the Party since Nigel Farage took over.

Let's be generous and forget about the abysmal local election results UKIP has had in the past 3 years.

Let's be generous and forget about UKIP's Leader being the only one interviewed on National Television, sounding more and more like the charicature 'Tory Boy image' portrayed towards the end of the late 1980's.

Let's be generous and forget about the alleged financial corruption of UKIP's Call Centre's, Lottery syndicates and EU Funding for UK political activities - as reported in much of the media.

Let us forget all of the above and pretend none of it is true.

DESPITE THIS, NIGEL FARAGE MEP HAS OVERSEEN THE DESTRUCTION OF THE VERY PARTY HE HELPED TO CREATE, through poor political judgement and failure to form alleigances with obvious potential allies.

Instead of cosying up to the Tories in posh restaurants and their offices in Strasbourg/Brussels, he should have been speaking to the left and centre left in British Politics, members of which have been equally damaged by the imposition of legislation from the EU.

We have seen today the launch of NO2EU.com run by one of the most well known and significant Trades Union Leaders in Britain today. UKIP SHOULD HAVE HAD HIS MEMBERS SUPPORT - and under different leadership - probably would have got it.

So now, we have, the BNP, Jury, UKF, and NO2EU.com all taking up the ground upon which UKIP stood and dominated.

So MR Farage, while you were trying to move onto the 'Tories Lawn', others have moved onto yours, and even more may yet try before June.

Goodbye UKIP - you have been destroyed by your own Leader.

UKF Party Launched, Libertas UK & Jury launching - whatever next ?

This is the month of New Political Party Launches. All of which will, to differing degrees, attract votes from UKIP.

All 3 Parties having ex-senior UKIP members actively involved - all of whom driven out of UKIP by Nigel Farage MEP.

When UKIP fails at the June elections - its members will know who to blame!

Good Performance by Nigel Farage - What a wasted talent!

Let it never be said that we at Political Gossip UK do not give credit where it is due.

Nigel Farage's performance on Question Time last night was very good. (Not brilliant as his sycophants claim, not derisory, as his detractors claim - it was very good).

This is the heart of the problem.

His supporters like him because he can perform. However, he is undoubtedly a 'one trip pony'.

His leadership of UKIP has been disasterous - No new money, No major defections from the Conservative Party, No mass publicity - all of which he promised during his Leadership election campaign.

The Party is in civil war with fractions occurring throughout England & Wales. Conferences are being held in opposition, fellow MEP's are writing against the leadership - the Party is in chaos and it is all down to one man.

There is no doubt in our mind, that he should never have stood for the leadership. Having won however, he should have embraced his opponents and not discarded them or supported defamation against them. Just imagine how powerful UKIP could be today if he followed either of those suggestions.

But no, having made one major mistake, he has moved on to others, culminating in the recent attempt to gain dictatorial powers - all pointless, unecessary and fatally damaging.

Instead of success, as 'it's time has come', UKIP is all but over. It just needs the confirmation of the British Public at the European Elections in JUNE.

What a shame - Good Speaker - Lousy Leader.

We are back and a brief Update re UKIP.

Well, its been almost 6 weeks since our last posting, and we wish to apologise to our readers for this delay.

Firstly, the whole team were focussed on such a major political project, we became somewhat distracted from the goings-on at UKIP. Also, fully aware that Junius and GL-W's various blogsites would be carrying up to date info, we knew that readers were not going to be 'left out in the cold'.

In summary:

The Judicial Review result has not gone well for UKIP, with the matter being referred back to the original judge to effectively amend his decision. Our lawyers advise that the logical out come, is that the whole donation from Mr Alan Bown is forfeit, and the grey area rests with the division of costs;

Both Dr Eric Edmond and Dr David Abbott have been ejected from the NEC for what, one can only assume, is as punishment for attempting to call the Leadership to Account;

Members will be asked to vote on changes to the Constitution giving almost absolute power to The Party Leader on matters which would normally be the province of 'The Disciplinary Committee';

It is believed that 'Libertas' is likely to launch in the UK in early February, with members already chosen to stand in the South East. This will seriously place Nigel Farage MEP in considerable difficulty, especially bearing in mind, it is quite possible that recently expelled ex-UKIPers may also stand against him. With UKIP's record of poor electoral results under Mr Farage's leadership, it would prove somewhat ironic, if he too were to lose his seat;

Finally, there are strong rumours afoot that the South West are going to declare 'Independence' from UKIP should Nigel Farage attempt to remove/replace Trevor Coleman MEP from the top of the European 'list'. It is common knowledge that the Leader wants to see Gawain Towler (whom many regard as Nigel's 'puppet and devoid of self-will) placed as Number One. However, certain recent revelations concerning his private affairs, may prevent this from happening.

All in all, an interesting few weeks, with political manouvers apparently taking up the time the Leadership has available and, what has now become, the laughable and discredited NEC.

More to follow, especially with regards to certain issues coming to light concerning UKIPs Leadership.

Former UKIP NEC Member - Internal Revelations

Dr Eric Edmond, who has recently been 'dismissed' from the NEC of the UK Independence Party has published some revelations about his experience there.

"For completeness I give my views on Martin Haslam (non-elected, but invited), Marta Andreasen (ex-officio, non elected) & Michael Zuckerman, elected.

"Martin Haslam is one of the most honest and decent men I have ever met. He was nominally deputy treasurer of UKIP but in fact did all the Treasury work. I am not quite sure what Ms Andreasen did. He has donated over £10000 to UKIP and also paid La Andreasen's salary of £36000 for the first three months. I have never met anyone with a bad word to say about Martin except NF. Nigel arranged for a journalist from the Independent newspaper to phone Martin when he was playing tennis with the sole purpose of entrapping Martin into speaking to a journalist without informing NF. NF brazenly stated he was testing Martin's loyalty. It beggars belief that anyone could doubt the integrity, honesty and loyalty of Martin Haslam. He is a man without fault.

After watching ask yourself if you would wish to work with this woman, have her working for you or have her represent your party and your views.

After Martin's entrapment he was removed from the NEC by NF. Ms Andreasen is now signing the cheques and keeps the UKIP books presumably in Barcelona where she lives.

As La Andreasen is now an MEP candidate she might well be signing cheques payable to herself. This is called a conflict of interest and is not recommended as good practice.

Mr Zuckerman also has ambitions to be an MEP. He is on the London list but Mr Batten and Mr Atkinson are ahead of him. Mr Batten and Mr Atkinson had some bitter arguments during the MEP election. Mr Bannerman has helpfully suggested if these arguments continue then Mr Batten and Mr Atkinson should be demoted in the list leaving Mr Zuckerman as numero uno.

Mr Zuckerman as party secretary and legal advisor was also helpful in confirming that Mr Bannerman being paid by EU money, an organisation EUKIP avowedly wishes to leave, was not a bar to Mr Bannerman being a member of UKIP NEC and formulating the charges against me. The ways of the law are indeed strange.

I expect to have more to tell you about Mr Zuckerman in the New Year.

On Tuesday, 9th Dec, I attended a meeting of my local branch committee to which our excellent chairman, Ken Perry, had invited our RO and long time friend of Mr Farage, Malcolm Wood to explain by what authority the NEC could remove an elected member whose only crime was to disagree with some of the great leader's views. Ken and the other committee members were clear that they were minded to dissolve the branch if necessary.

I was humbled and proud of the way Ken and all the committee members refused to be distracted by Mr Wood's dissembling and obfuscation. They repeated their argument that UKIP's ruling cabal had no democratic authority to expel me. That by so doing they were behaving just like the EU and were turning UKIP into a Fascist organisation. Why do we have elections at all if the NEC ignores the result? How can the NEC be prosecutor, judge and jury in its own case?

They have written to Nuttall demanding I be reinstated.The decision to disband will be deferred until they get his answer but they demand his answer by Xmas. They also noted they had not yet received a reply from Nuttall to their previous letter.Our committee represents all that is best in UKIP and indeed why I joined UKIP in the first place. Mr Wood's waffling and persistent avoiding of questions went down very badly indeed. As Mr Lincoln said, "You can’t fool all of the people all of the time"

A One Election Wonder may wipe out UKIP

Declan Ganley's launch today of Libertas in Brussels, has apparently gained more media coverage than UKIP has achieved throughout the whole of 2008.

Whilst Ganley only wants to 'amend' the EU (as opposed to withdrawal), his impressive TV performances today - sounding honest and genuine rather than slick, his skill at political lobbying (as shown in the Irish Referendum) and his financial clout, will ensure considerable success at the EU elections in 2009.

Now to put this in perspective, what we mean by considerable success is, hundreds of thousands of voters moving away from the Conservatives, The Liberal Democrats and most seriously, from UKIP.

UKIP has failed since 2004, (and especially since Nigel Farage MEP gained the leadership), to make any political impression on the National Stage. This, despite one of the most important issues being discussed by every household in the Country, ~~The New Constitution~~ The Lisbon Treaty.

We believe traditional UKIP supporters will give up on Farage's 'dead duck Party' and go for Ganley's offer on a 'needs must' basis.

Our major worry is that Ganley will fail to gain the serious number of MEPs he needs in Britain and lose impetus and direction after the election in 2009, thereby, yet again leaving anti-EU activists in limbo land. Perhaps then, with UKIP totally decimated, Ganley's Dream emasculated, a New Movement may appear and 'fill the gap' that will have been created.

Is Declan Ganley taking over UKIP's Ground?

We have heard much in the past from Nigel Farage MEP, Leader of the UK Independence Party that he was moving UKIP onto traditional Conservative Party ground.

Well Nigel, it looks as if (providing the Telegraph has its story right) that Declan Ganley and Libertas wll be taking over your ground.

Admittedly, Libertas is not anti-EU but anti The Lisbon Treaty. However, there is no doubt in these offices, that with Ganley's wealth, and the poor showing of UKIP in recent elections, the number of UKIP MEPs wil be decimated in the 2009 Euro- Elections. UKIPs anti EU vote will be split between Libertas and the BNP, and why? Because UKIP MEPs failed to capitalise on the tremendous boost they had in 2004 and have spent the past 4 years squandering their 'in-built' advantage.

This is our assessment, even before any bad publicity 'hits the streets' about certain members activities and court case results.

What a Shame, that this, and the previous leadership, lacked the vision and qualities necessary to advance what could have been a serious force in British Politics. Too late now lads, we now understand why you spend so much time in the Tavernas - you realise it too.

GL-W Banned From British Democracy Forum

Well, the inevitable day has arrived.

GL-W has been banned from the formerly known UKIP Forum (now called the British Democracy Forum) for allegedly reporting an accusation of assault against a Party member, having been advised by the victim that this was so.

Rather than contact the alleged victim, The Forum Moderators contacted UKIP who apparently told them there was no truth in this allegation. Seems odd to us that the Moderators did not contact the 'victim' - after all he should know, shouldn't he?

It has been apparent for some 2 weeks that the Moderators were looking for an excuse (in our opinion) to eject GL-W as many of his posts had been withdrawn or 'cut', while others who said most distasteful things about GL-W and his family were allowed to keep their posts alive, and in some cases were re-iterrated by other members.

HARDLY A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD - We Think.

We have been suspicious for some time that The BD Forum has cosied up to UKIP either out of fear or favour - we genuinely do not know which. However, one thing is certain, without GL-W the BD Forum will be a less interesting place. It's now up to Junius to keep us all fascinated.

We have just one question at this point - if the alleged victim comes up with an 'incident number' for the reported offence, will the Moderators and Anthony Butcher apologise to GL-W and allow him to return?

British Democracy Forum - Getting Out Of Hand?

OK, we at PG UK knew that the return of GL-W to the BD Forum would liven things up a little, but we never expected the level of vitriol, personal attacks and Moderators in disarray as we have witnessed the past few days.

The usual suspects (Bob FM, Michael McGough, Mark Croucher) ran true to form, but we particularly dislike the side swipes at Lee (GL-W's partner) which McGough has made on a number of occasions. SHAME ON YOU MCGOUGH - Attacking a defenceless woman not involved in this political debate - WHAT A COWARDLY BULLY YOU ARE!

We certainly doubted your motives in defending questionable accounting practices conducted by some, we also questioned you claiming to be a PPC when you weren't, but we never took you to be a Coward attacking a defenceless woman! It just goes to show the depths some of these '2 bit players' are prepared to stoop.

We are also concerned that the Moderators have not dealt with the 'unproven' accusation levied on the Forum that GL-W has a record for handling 'stolen goods'. Unless proven otherwise, this is libellous in the extreme and should not go unchallenged.

It is little wonder that GL-W has retaliated with avengance, creating yet a greater atmosphere of tension, ill-will and general chaos.

There is no doubt that GL-W's rather robust and accusatory style has proven a catalyst for 'revenge attacks' but the fault, in large measure, rests with the Moderators for allowing the matter to get to this stage, and even worse, when some of them actually get involved in the abuse themselves.

A period of calm is called for and clear rules to be laid out, within which, all contributors should comply. We want to see genuine political debate not constant name calling and unsubstantiated allegations.

So come on Mr Butcher - lay out the ground rules and stop attacks on people not involved in the process and focus your Forum on intellectual argument.

Is the BNP Infiltration of UKIP Charge just an excuse for Nigel's Failure at next year's EU Elections in June?

Having recently read the posts made by Bob FM, Mark Croucher, Douglas Denny, Michael McGough and others on the British Democracy Forum.

Having read the statements and letters issued by UKIP's Chairman Paul Nuttall.

Having listened to comments made by Nigel Farage and some of his MEP colleagues, a pattern is developing which is becoming quite clear.

They are preparing their 'GRAND EXCUSE' for next year's failure in the EU Elections. Having clearly failed to date as leader, and having based his entire strategy on success at the EU elections (we recall Nigel making it very clear at the time of his disasterous Local Election results that it was only the EU elections which were important to UKIP) it is perhaps, at last dawning upon him and others, that UKIP will fail miserably in June. (Frankly, not something my colleagues and I particularly savour, but feel is inevitable under the current leadership team).

So, what better excuse than to 'prepare' for his failure than to accuse claimed 'anti-Farage' members of being BNP 'plants or infiltrators'. The words BNP seem to 'roll off' the tongues of these UKIP 'senior cohorts' more readily and frequently than it does from Nick Griffin himself!

The hypothesis which we are putting forward based on evidence to date, is that Nigel's Contingency Plan is to invent a BNP infiltrators plot to blame for his inevitable electoral failure. Using his 'invented plot' he intends to clear out members, to suit his aims, culminating in a 'Night of the Long Knives' eary next year. UKIP can then be portrayed as 'rising from the ashes' as a Phoenix under its saviour - Nigel Farage.

Nigel Farage, we believe that members won't be so easily duped.

Accusing honest men with integrity, like Dr Eric Edmond, of supporting the BNP (you will note his anger at the dishonesty of this claim shown on his own blog - http://ukiptruth.blogspot.com) makes the foolishness of this strategy increasingly apparent.

Of course no-one wants BNP types in their Party, but to use BNP style methods to accuse innocent members, is dishonest and dishonourable, seemingly showing the depth to which the UKIP Leadership are prepared to sink.

We hope they sink no lower. SHAME ON YOU!

It looks as if plans were afoot for UKIP to do a deal with the Tories at the next General Election. Alledgedly, a Press Officer by the name of Clive Page, while in 'his cups' (heaven forefend) it is claimed that:

Nigel was willing to do a deal with David Cameron if the price was right. Nigel offered to withdraw all of UKIP’s parliamentary candidates if Cameron allowed UKIP to stand uncontested in three safe Tory seats. As you would expect, Nigel wanted a seat. New Political Party Being Considered - Rumour or Fact?

It's very unlike us to quote rumour, but a number of sources are suggesting that a contingent of the British Democracy Forum members are considering setting up their own political party in view of the alledged apparent failure of UKIP to achieve its goals.

We were all aware of the 'Grass Roots' and 'Phoenix' attempts at creating a 'counter leadership group' from within the UKIP structure, but this seems to be very different. With the departure of Geoffrey Kingscott (former UKIP General Secretary)we all assumed this was an end to the infraction. However this appears not to be so.

This is only 'rumour' at present, as we understand that no formal meetings have been held. Despite this, we are aware that many members, and active 'ex-members' of UKIP, are very unhappy with the more 'extreme' and increasingly 'dictatorial' methods adopted by Nigel Farage and his 'inner circle'. Many are suggesting that he is 'deliberately destroying the anti-EU cause' for preferment in another 'Political Grouping' to be announced after the Euro Elections.

With UKIP already under fire from the Electoral Commission, Legal Actions pending, appalling election results of late, a new 'alternative Party' will just be another nail in the coffin for this potentially once 'Great Political Party movement'.

More Legal Action Against UKIP

Well it does appear that UKIP is now facing yet another Court battle.

With the outcome due of the Judicial Review into the recent trial resulting in UKIP being found guilty for accepting 'inadmissable donations' we now have a number of Party members sueing UKIP for 'alledged' election selection malpractices.

Dedicated Party workers John and Alison West have apparently lodged an action against UKIP for breaches in its MEP selection procedures. There is also rumour that 1 or possibly 2 individuals may be taking senior Party members to Court for 'libel/and/or/slander' - we shall have to wait and see.

All of these distractions when the Party should be in full swing in preparing for the EU elections. Where is the LEADERSHIP? is what we ask.

Former UKIP Party Secretary and NEC Member believes British Democracy Forum has been infilitrated by MI5

Shown below is correspondence from a former UKIP Party Secretary and current NEC member - Mr Douglas Denny - to Anthony Butcher of the British Democracy Forum stating that 'the Forum' has a 'high probability' of being infiltrated (or even controlled)by MI5.

Really Mr Denny? Well 'as a scientist' (though we thought you were an optician), perhaps you should study a little closer the posts made on the Democracy Forum. Most appear to be childish name calling and petty arguements (of late at least) or a means by which 'Leadership supporters' can criticise and hurl abuse at 'Leadership detractors' - in fact we at Political Blogspot UK have noticed you to have been one of the main culprits.

Why on earth MI5 would be remotely interested in 'infiltrating' what has become 'a children's playground for name calling' is beyond us. Perhaps Mr Denny MI5 has also infiltrated 'Slumberland Beds' - afterall 'pillow talk' can be most revealing.

With people like this in charge of UKIP is it surprising the Party is making so little progress?

It appears you think it fanciful for me to be suspicious of your website possibly (note the caveat) being a set-up of MI5, or linked in some way.

I will send you separately at the end of my text an article about Julia Pirie, which will indicate (as a typical example) of why that is entirely possible, or to put another way - not completely implausible.

I am a scientist and I know that nothing is certain (except for humans death and taxes). Everything therefore can only have a probability value given to it. Even some of the most fundamental things known in physics end up as probability values only - when we know enough about them. The whole of quantum mechanics is about probabilities for example.

I can tell you that the probability of there being a file in MI5 headquarters Millbank on you, and me, and everyone who appears on your forum is almost 1.0 (100%).

That MI5 takes a very keen interest in political individuals and parties is well known - and that means everyone, even those in government (although there is not supposed to be surveillance of MPs - there is no doubt discrete investigation all the time). This country is good at it and has been doing it for centuries.

I used to have a friend who was ex-MI5 who spent a lot of his time going around the country keeping people who were in the Communist party under surveillance. Some of those people are now in the present Labour government.

If you think MI5 does NOT keep a close eye on the BNP, or UKIP or the Greens or any other political organisation especially small parties you are naive. MI5 has been recruiting hundreds of new people in the last couple of years just to be able to monitor the Muslim threat alone within the UK. There was an announcement in the newspapers recently from the head of national security in governement that there are something like 10,000 Muslin suspects in Britain currently under surveillance. How do you think they keep an eye on these people?

In the case of your forum.....
Let us make a few hypothetical extrapolations just for the fun of it to test the credibility some of these hypotheses, and ask is it likely; just credible?; just possible? or just plain unlikely.

Suppose I was an MI5 controller in the political section, UK; and I wanted to keep tabs on UKIP activists. How best to do it?

First and foremost one needs membership lists. (NO problem - lots of ways to obtain them). Having obtained them, second, how to keep and eye on the attitudes of activists?
.... well you could set-up a website now we are into modern information technology, specifically dealing with UKIP issues - and monitor it for the activity. Anyone who says "I believe it is time to blow up parliament" - Bingo! you have someone to look more carefully at don't you?

Now GLW used to do this kind of work for MI5 in the 'old' days before the internet - How?

By putting adverts into magazines like 'Combat Magazine' with offers for weapons and suchlike. Then all he had to do was filter the results and put any suspicious characters under surveillance. Simple. Standard fishing exercise. They no doubt do that now with Muslin organisations/publications/internet activity.

Now what is the probability your site is like this? What is the possibility it was set-up deliberately to do this? - that will have a prob. value.

What about the possibility of being approached later for information feed to MI5? (personal information and real-time current logging data etc).. higher probability again than first. This is normal procedure, for example: All of the large newspapers have links through specific journalists with the newspaper monitoring its content.

What about being part of some external network other than MI5 for political surveillance? - another prob. value.... higher than most of the above.

What is the probability it is just a simple wenbsite set-up by a computer buff after leaving UNi to make a bob or two ..higher probability yet again than any above......

....... but that does not eliminate any of the above!

Now do you think I am so daft as to not consider these things? Particularly in view of the sustained anti-UKIP stance of this site over some years, with little pro-UKIP encouragement from the site owner?

What do I think the probability values are? ... not telling.

And THEN there is infiltration ....... a much bigger ball game altogether with a new set of parameters to consider....

Disappointed in British Democracy Forum's Anthony Butcher

This site has been a keen follower and supporter of Anthony Butcher's British Democracy Forum until now. We are hugely disappointed at the number of threads he is closing down, claiming personal attacks ??????? Anthony, over the past 2 years, your site has been made up of nothing but personal attacks.

Our concern is that to date you have allowed personal attacks on decent members of UKIP by what some regard as the 'ruling cabal', but as soon as someone retaliates i.e. a certain GL-W, you close the thread. This is most unusual and suspicious to say the least.

Conspiracy theorists may ask whether you are a secret supporter of the UKIP Leadership, whilst pretending not to be. We at Political Gossip UK believe you should have the courage of your convictions and state whether you are or are not. Either way, an honest approach is better than an apparent duplicitous one.

If and when UKIP fails, and perhaps ends up with just three or four MEPs, then Farage will lose all credibility as a leader and will have to step aside for someone completely fresh to take over.. and that means someone who isn't in his trusted circle... which means someone who doesn't hold any position in the leadership at the moment.We can argue on this forum forever about his faults, but political leaders stand and fall on election results.

No one expected UKIP to do well in the General Election or the local elections, but the EU elections are a completely different matter. Farage has been given far more leniency by the party than most other party leaders would ever have had, but he has one big chance to prove himself.

It is far too late for a new leader to have any chance of making an impact on the party now in time for the elections.So if you are a UKIP member I would urge you to stop plotting to oust him and let him get on with it for the moment. That doesn't mean that his leadership decisions shouldn't be criticised - that is only healthy - but attacks for the sake of attacks won't achieve anything. If you think that he is doomed to fail anyway, then don't provide him with more excuses to try to worm his way out of it afterwards.

You and a few others will probably be out of the party soon anyway, so this is probably a pointless post!

Former UKIP General Secretary Resigns Party

Former UKIP General Secretary - Mr Geoffrey Kingscott - has resigned from UKIP stating that he now hopes that it will not be electorally successful.

What is actually going on inside UKIP to encourage such a major stalwart/supporter to do a 180% about turn and not only resign but wish the Party to which he has been dedicated to fail?

No doubt the Party line will state that he was a suspect BNP infiltrator all along.

Although recently I have been critical of how the party is being led, I was still always wanting the party to win, as Britain's only hope. But I have now altogether lost faith. Suddenly I find I no longer want UKIP to be electorally successful, since I feel UKIP tarnishes the cause for which it ostensibly stands.

It is now just the Nigel-Farage Party I always said I would never resign, since it was my party as much as it was Nigel Farage's,but this sudden loss of faith these last ten days has made me realise it would not be honest to continue as a member.

My earlier idea had been that if I felt that the leadership was lacking, e.g. over opposition to the Lisbon Treaty, then we should remedy the lack, which was what we started to do with the Stop the Treaty rally. I was also keen on the idea that as so many activists had left UKIP over the years, those of us still in UKIP should build bridges to them. I now find that we (those of us who had stayed with UKIP) are now the junior partner here, and there are now more patriots outside UKIP than remain inside.

Even though I now find there is no light at the end of the tunnel, I respect those who somehow still feel they must stay inside the fold and fight there.

I remember the arguments I myself put in the past to try to persuade others to stay. Nor do I hold no animus against those who feel they must continue to support Nigel Farage. I am as sharp a critic as any of actions or inactions, but I cannot bring myself to dislike persons. I have always hated the personal vituperation and character assassination that is rife in someUKIP quarters in both supporters and critics of the leadership.

The worst of these have been the frustrated rants of Greg Lance Watkins, which are widely circulated but so crude as to verge on the silly, and the much more professionally composed black propaganda of Mark Croucher, an expert at making bricks without straw. I shall be glad to leave all that behind.

Although I have been critical inside the party, outside I have been apassionate spokesman for it. In my own town of Long Eaton many people know my name only as the representative of UKIP. My friends and relations have come to avoid getting on to the subject of politics with me; I had become a UKIP bore to them. It is going to be a personal embarrassment having to go public with an admission that I now find UKIP unfit for purpose.

I will blind-copy this to all the friends and acquaintances in UKIP. As I have got a lot on my plate at the moment - not only long-term commitments tobook publishers but also a short-term writing contract with tightdeadlines - I emphatically do not want to spend any time in telephone discussions. But I will try to reply to emails. However, now I have made my decision, UKIP is the past, it's a dead duck as far as I am concerned, and I no longer interested in discussing what is happening inside it.

UKIP is doing terribly in elections, we get involved in lawsuits that could be avoided, we only have one spokesman, we are losing members and throwing out others as quickly as we can, potential donors hold back for fear their contributions will be misused, there is no training, no pamphlets, no message. Liars and cheaters are promoted.

Ms Fullers Morrocan taxi driver friend posts a video of a respected member, and no one apologises, but the cabal turns on the badly treated member, and our leader defends his alleged girlfriend's actions.

Farage pays his wife, having promised not to. A call centre opens in Ramsgate, run by an ex National Front person, and our Argentinian/Danish treasurer knows nothing of it. Ashford call centre sends less than 15% of its collections to the Party, but the NEC is not allowed to discuss this. Our deputy leader uses a made-up name and is employed by the EU.

And when Buster draws some of this to the attention of the leader, face to face, our press office gets to work to put the BNP smear on him.

And when I post a piece suggesting the benefits of playing by the rules I get tossed off the NEC, to which I was elected and reelected on a platform of keeping to the rules.

And our convicted fraudster of a press officer's flat mate (Marxist, Searchlight collaborator Croucher) libels me day after day.

Rule by Brussels or by UKIP? Its a toss-up.

Unfortunately, I am today suspending you as UK Independence Party PPC for Ipswich North and Suffolk Central under rule 16.2 of the Constitution. The final decision regarding your candidacy will now be put before the NEC on December 15` 2008.

I am also informing you that there have been a number of serious complains made against you, which have now been passed on to the Party Secretary.

This is particularly hard for me as I have always found you to be hard-working and extremely likable. I also know that you still feel aggrieved by the You Tube scenario and demand an apology. I had a lot of sympathy for you in this matter and I am truly sorry that it happened.

However, your behaviour since that instance has brought the party into disrepute.

You reported the former leader of the party to the Police, without a shred of evidence; you show no remorse for your actions, even though the Police have said there is no case to answer and you now openly claim that the same individual is under investigation by OLAF, also without foundation.

I hope you understand that I cannot allow this situation to continue.

I will repeat that I like you John and have always supported you in the past, but I think you are being manipulated and used by some very unsavoury characters indeed. I therefore take this decision with a heavy heart.

UKIP Ipswich general election candidate is taking his own party to court following a row over the selection process for becoming a Euro MP.

John West, who will stand for election for UKIP in the North Ipswich and Central Suffolk constituency in the next general election, is demanding a £500 deposit back after failing to get the nod to represent the party at the next European elections due to be held next June.

Mr West declined to reveal details of the dispute but told The Evening Star he has lodged the matter with Ipswich County Court.

UKIP have around three weeks to respond and if the matter is not settled the issue could go before a judge.

Mr West, who is also UKIP chairman for Ipswich and east Suffolk, said: “I can confirm I'm taking legal action against UKIP over the MEP selection process.”

A spokesman for UKIP said: “Mr West underwent the same process as the rest of the candidates.“Unfortunately on this occasion he was not successful.“We gather he is looking for the return of his deposit and the party will look into this at a senior level as soon as it can.”

Ipswich County Court was unable to confirm if a claim has been made.

The East of England constituency has a total of seven MEPs representing the area in Brussels - in 2004 two UKIP candidates were elected from the region.

Oh dear, more dissent and bad publicity for this 'accident prone' political party. Lessons in 'man management' and personnel relations may be required.

Why are so many UKIP British Democracy Forum Members so nasty to one another?

Yesterday, we had a discussion at our offices to try and understand why certain members of the British Democracy Forum are so nasty to each other - especially those members of UKIP.

We researched many postings and found the main culprits to be, Mark Croucher, Bob FM, Michael McGough, Douglas Denny and Junius. On searching the archives further back, other names such as 'Devil's Kitchen', Chad Noble, Bellatrix etc also appear.

We find this most curious. Rather than debate the issues, these individuals appear (to us at least) to continuously attack those who oppose the UKIP leadership or questions their actions.

Loyalty guys is fair enough and should be applauded, but there really is no substitute for sound argument and debate.

We suggest, that if it is truly your intention to have UKIP treated seriously as a 'grown up' political party, then cut the abuse, and debate rationally.

GL-W allowed back on to the Democracy Forum

We are pleased to see that GL-W has been allowed to post on the British Democracy Forum after a 12+ month suspension. The poll conducted showed that 27 members supported his return as opposed to 19 against.

Rather amusingly Anthony Butcher, the Forum owner, admitted that GL-W could have posted anyway as the site had failed to block him - a technical hiccup. How kind it was of GL-W not to take advantage of this situation.

In view of the overwhelming support for GL-W one cannot help but ask the Question should he also stand for the 'UKIP Leadership' in 2010? - if so, he should get his Party membership application form in now so as to give him plenty of time to overcome any objections that may arise. After all, he would be a stark contrast to the traditional 'blazer and brogues brigaide'.

In view of the information we are receiving on an hourly basis, we believe that none of the other Celebrities attending will have had the indepth experience Robert has had, of hand to hand combat and jungle survival gained whilst at UKIP. In addition the natives may prove more friendly.

It is also likely that by the end of the Program he will smell a little sweeter than he did on Question Time.

An Apology from Political Gossip UK

We wish to apologise for focussing on UKIP politics at the moment, as opposed to other political parties. The reason we are doing this is, that in fairness, the other Parties have extensive coverage in the media and on the Web which UKIP does not. We are approaching the EU elections shortly and this is the time that UKIP has traditionally done well and therefore becomes more relevant.

Also, we are intrigued at what is going on within UKIP, as it does appear that something of a 'power struggle' has developed, and the Party seems to be heading towards an Authoritarian Prescriptive Dictatorship - rather unusual for a Party that claims to support a degree of libertarianism, free speech and equal rights.

All political commentators are aware that 'politics is a dirty business', but frankly, the authors of this site, genuinely (but naively) believed that UKIP was different - therefore the focus of our interest.

Just thought we would let our readers know.

Dr Edmond's suspension from UKIP NEC

Our only comment is that the majority of this rather lengthy dossier is childish (spit spat) in the extreme. Further, it does not appear that Dr Edmond has had the opportunity to defend himself properly. We are just thankful that Dr Edmond has not committed a serious crime, otherwise we would have had to apply for more webspace to print the charge sheet!!!

Whilst not lawyers ourselves, there is one possible saving grace for Dr Edmond - it does appear to enable him to avoid any financial liability that NEC members may have in view of the Party finances during the term of his 'suspension'.

STRICTLY PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL

A SUBMISSION FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTIONAGAINST DR ERIC EDMOND

Presented on request of the NEC for discussion at theNovember NEC meeting

Introduction

The NEC has the power under the Party Constitution to expel or suspend a member of the NEC for 'unbecoming conduct' under Articles 7.18.4. The intention of this clause is to exclude any NEC member who behaves in such a way as consistently to disrupt the NEC and prevent it from conducting its business in a proper, efficient and orderly manner. This ongoing conduct thereby proves him or herself to be unfit to continue as an NEC member.

By offering Dr Edmond the opportunity to speak at the last NEC and by deferring discussion of the matter to a future NEC, and by providing a copy of this paper in advance to Dr Edmond, the NEC has sought to act reasonably and fairly under the Constitution.

The motion agreed at the 8th September NEC was: "That in view of the indication by Dr Edmond that he wished to have the opportunity to prepare to meet any charges against him, and in view of representations by various NEC members that they wish to have the opportunity of putting forward their own complaints against Dr Edmond, David Campbell Bannerman was invited to prepare a submission for disciplinary action against Dr Edmond under clause 7.18 of the constitution to be heard at the next NEC meeting and with proper notice of at least 7 days being given to Dr Edmond of the content of that submission.”

1. The Charge of ‘Unbecoming Conduct’ Against Dr Eric Edmond, with supporting evidence.The majority view of the NEC is that Dr Eric Edmond has been a consistently disruptive influence on the NEC since he was elected, and that his behaviour needs to improve markedly if he is able to continue as an NEC member. The facts show a clear pattern of disruptive and abusive behaviour, and of contempt for the NEC and its members. This is clear from the evidence cited below:

1.1 Threats to go outside the NEC, and support for police actionDr Edmond has made serious threats against the NEC. For example, he said inan e mail of 25th July "If you persist in this I will have to seek remedies outside the NEC."Dr Edmond supported John West's recurring attacks on UKIP, including seeming to encourage unjustified attempts to instigate police action against the party. In his e mail of 13th August he says to John West and John Whittaker "I urge him to do so as quickly as possible so the police can get on with their investigation as quickly as possible".

1.2 Aggressive personal behaviourEven at his first NEC, on 7th April, Dr Edmond engaged in an aggressive attack on the Leader and his style of leadership. He again attacked Nigel Farage at the 14th July NEC regarding Nigel's use of the Political Committee for political decisions (despite this being made clear as its purpose in the Constitution, and owing to a need to make quick political decisions). Mr Farage explained forcefully that the reason was a lack of trust in the NEC owing to past leaks.

Dr Edmond also engaged in attacks also on Douglas Denny at 14th July NEC, calling him an "idiot", when Mr Denny objected to Edmond's slanderous remarks against Christopher Gill (see below).

In an e mail to Douglas Denny of 2nd September, Edmond rudely says. "you are raving again." This was in response to Mr Denny making reasonable comments which ended in the observation: "All I have seen so far, is a constant tirade [by Dr Edmond] against the "leadership" of UKIP and what appears to be deliberate disruption and promotion of discord in the NEC. What is your agenda ? It does not appear to me to be what you told the membership." and in an e mail of 4th September from Edmond, "your reply is rubbish". As Lisa Duffy made clear in her e mail of 28th September: "The only angry raised voice has been Dr Edmond".

1.3 Bringing the Party into disrepute, by writing to a body UKIP isengaged in a legal dispute with, to make wild and damaging accusations

Dr Edmond has written to the Electoral Commission in the middle of a legal case against the party by that same organisation.

He wrote to Mr Franks of the Electoral Commission on 10th September saying: "I gather you are the investigating officer in charge of investigating alleged financial improprieties at UKIP with a case currently under judicial review. I was expelled from UKIP NEC on Monday. I am deeply concerned about my financial liabilities as while on the NEC party officials stone walled over answering questions on financial matters and in one case gave a completely untruthful answer.

“I copy to you my letter to the residual NEC as record of the date and content of my request for financial information as UKIP leaders usually ignore awkward but important questions. I am not sure who legally is currently chairman of UKIP Whittaker or Nuttall as the Monday meeting was improperly convened but Whittaker seemed to chairing the meeting."

He also claimed in his e mail of 10th September "I will of course also be seeking guidance from the Electoral Commission as to the propriety of all financial and other transactions made during my term of office".

It is difficult to accept that Dr Edmond has the interests of the party at stake when he acts this way. He was seeking to do major damage to the cause of UKIP. This alone is enough for a complaint to the disciplinary committee.

1.4 Slanderous Comments made against Christopher Gill at the NEC meeting of 14th July 2008

At the 14th July meeting, Eric Edmond challenged the suitability of Christopher Gill to act as Returning Officer, given that as a Tory MP "he did not even make it as a PUSy (Parliamentary Under Secretary)", the lowest grade of Minister. He did this despite the fact that Christopher Gill was not present at the meeting, and therefore not able to defend himself.

Nigel Farage said that this remark was not nice, and below the belt, as many MPs are not just in Parliament for Ministerial positions and serve their constituencies well.

Eric retorted that no, "it is due to a lack of talent".

David Campbell Bannerman commented that this remark was slanderous, and urged Dr Edmond to withdraw it. He refused to do so. Douglas Denny said it was actionable.

At the subsequent NEC of 8th September, Mr Campbell Bannerman inquired whether Dr Edmond had apologised subsequently to Christopher Gill, and Christopher confirmed no such apology had been received.

At that NEC, Dr Edmond claimed that he had not made the remarks, but many members of the NEC commented that he was wrong, and that they had a clear recollection that these remarks were made, as stated.

Whilst fair criticism is of course acceptable, this kind of unpleasant and libellous abuse in front of Christopher Gill's peer group, and without him present to defend himself, is not acceptable conduct by an NEC member.

1.5 Breaches of NEC confidentialityDr Edmond has broken strict NEC confidentiality rules.

For example, in an e mail of 13th August to Robin Page, Dr Edmond reported: "I have expressed mydis-satisfaction with this to our leader but he replied the NEC leaked so much he could only have people he could trust on his Political Committee." This was a discussion at an NEC meeting and was confidential to that meeting. NEC rules clearly state that breach of confidentiality can lead to instant dismissal fromthe NEC.

Yet Dr Edmond also displays rather a contempt for confidentiality. In his e mail of 30th September he dismisses breaches of NEC confidentiality as "unproven" and to raise such concerns as an "allegation that smears us all". This is despite consistent evidence of leaks - as Rachel Oxley states in her e mail of 30th September, "It really is stating the obvious to say the e mail correspondence of the NEC is being passed on as we see our comments reproduced in part or in full in the e mail circulation list of Greg Lance Watkins and on Anthony Butcher's forum."

1.6 Support for a disruptive attempt by John West to sit on the NEC

Eric Edmond encouraged John West to believe he had a right to sit onthe NEC, even though there is no 'ladder' system in operation for the NEC(leading to the next highest voted candidate taking a free place) and there was no vacancy, as confirmed by an NEC discussion and vote on 8th September. As a result John West was sitting in at the NEC meeting on 8th September and had subsequently to be asked to leave, as he had no right to be there.

Dr Edmond at the NEC denied he had encouraged West to attend, yet he supported his case at the NEC of 8th September and in his e mail of 30th August, he said: "UKIP Constitution requires 12 elected members. There are currently only 11. John West, the 5th placed person in the last NEC election therefore should be on the NEC. Can you please send him an invite to this effect ?" and in his email of 31st August he argued: "John West has a democratic mandate to fill our vacant NEC slot.. but he is democratically entitled to sit on the NEC."

This was done without the courtesy of checking the rules with the Party Secretary nor discussing the matter with the Party Chairman, and was done in an aggressive manner. This is the comment made to a former Party Secretary Douglas Denny in e mail of 1st September: "If you persist in trying to thwart the democratic process you make us the same as the EU" and another of same date where he says "it is silly for you to try and deny democratic process for Mr West and invoke it for your own ends."

Latterly, he has compounded his abusive approach by calling in an email of 20th. September for the Party Leader to be barred from the NEC owing to an OLAF inquiry, the Deputy Leader to resign, for John West to take his place, and with an attack on the Treasurer and MEP Candidate Marta Andreasen.

1.7 A recurrent attempt to undermine faith in the MEP selection process

Eric Edmond is entitled to his views and to criticise the conduct of Party business or the MEP selection process as an NEC member. However, his conduct goes way beyond a legitimate holding to account.

Eric Edmond has supported every single complainant regarding MEP selection in his e mails with enthusiasm - John West, Robin Page, Lynnda Robson, Gerard Batten, Victor Webb, Chris Hudson, Rollo Reid.

He makes grossly exaggerated claims in an e mail of 19th August that "This is the latest in a succession of allegations of improprieties in the MEP election process. We have a situation where rules and due process are being ignored at all levels of the party, emails from NEC members to those involved in running the election are not replied to, legal actions are in progress and someone who were told had resigned for an unforgivable breach of confidence is now allegedly back performing the same functions but with a murky contractual relationship with UKIP. A general state of anarchy prevails and the leadership produce no evidence to the NEC to support their actions. I support your call for to scrap the election... (and for) an emergency NEC." The vast majority of regions and candidates have been satisfied with the process, even where their ambitions have been sadly disappointed, and yet Dr Edmond seeks to stop, destroy and invalidate the entire process.

Factually, Edmond ignored the guidance regarding closing dates and did not bother to confirm this with the party before stirring the issue up outside the NEC.

In an e mail of 15th August he claims "Messrs Page & West seem to have a strong prima facie case that there were not given fair treatment in our MEP selection process and I request this be put on the NEC agenda for discussion at our Sept meeting. Page's case seems to be strong as UKIP did extend the closing date for nominations in Wales and possibly other regions as well. West's case is also strong and potentially far more damaging as it has elements of malicious intent." Never did he acknowledge that West had clearly libelled Jeffrey Titford MEP, Stuart Gulleford and the Deputy Leader in advance of his YouTube posting (and which was not at all acceptable), nor that West had even gone to the police to make these false accusations.

Even after notice of disciplinary action was given, Dr Edmond was still unquestionably supporting Mr West. In an e mail of 28th September, Edmond says, "John West has not used any foul language and addressed the NEC in mildand moderate language." John West never "addressed" the NEC, he was merely asked why he was attending the meeting, and then asked to leave whilst this was discussed. Dr Edmond further claimed in his e mail of 29th September that a firm but polite response from Douglas Denny to continued harassment by email by West was "offensive and threatening".

This support is despite the fact that West’s malicious charges to the Essex police have been formally dismissed as having no substance whatsoever.

Then Edmond enthusiastically embraces Victor Webb's complaints. In a 20th September e mail about Victor Webb he proclaims "He seems to me to have a prima facie case for a complaint", asking the Chairman to have Mr Webb at the NEC in person, as he did with John West.

An e mail of 30th July attacks the South West process, stating that "Rollo Reid, the chairman of the nearby Christchurch branch and one of our best activists was not selected as an MEP candidate whilst Julie Harrison, Graeme Booth's niece who had only been in the party one week according to the SWCC figures was selected ! I pointed out to the SWCC at which 3 members of the selection committee were present how demoralising this decision would be for our activists. Was Mr Gill party to this decision ?".

As early as 11th June Dr Edmond was declaring in an e mail that "I heard a rumour that the £250 MEP nomination fee had been waived for some candidates. As a candidate myself I have an obvious interest. Do you know if there is any truth in this rumour?"

And at the NEC meeting on 9th June, Edmond supported the issue of the Fenland branch and Len Baynes, who had attacked the Regional Organiser for Eastern, Peter Reeve, and which they had unfairly tried to deselect as a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.

As for the selection process, Dr Edmond raised a motion at the NEC of 14th July for the South West demanding the region has its own, independent voting system using the Electoral Reform Society, claiming people have "a lack of faith in the integrity in voting on MEP candidates". This was despite the fact no other region has requested a different voting process, and that the Returning Officer Piers Merchant is not only known to be very fair but is from the South West himself. Edmond also boasted of disrespect for the Deputy Leader from some in the South West. The motion was defeated.

Dr Edmond did attend the MEP vote count at Head Office in person and sought to test the voting system there, only to find that the device he used proved the process was robust and the results exactly the same as his.

1.8 Inconsistent and inaccurate public statements

Dr. Edmond has made a number of inaccurate statements, within the NEC and outside of it. As cited above, he insisted he did not make slanderous statements about Christopher Gill, when this was raised at the 8th September meeting, even though this was the clear recollection of the majority of NEC members.

Even after the disciplinary warning Dr Edmond has continued to make a series of inaccurate statements as to the facts whilst regularly claiming "I just tell the truth" (in his e mail of 28th September). His version of events once again is at complete odds with the recollection of the majority of the NEC, which he consistently denies. In his email of 28th September, for example, he says:"Your statements... about what happened at the 8th Sept NEC are highly misleading and distort the truth".

Dr Edmond claimed at the 8th September NEC itself that it "was not a properly constituted meeting of the NEC" and that the new Chairman was not authorised by the NEC, even though the Party Leader had explained he had called and had agreement from a required number of NEC members before the Party Conference announcement.

Dr Edmond has also claimed several times, including to outside audiences, that he was "illegally expelled" from the NEC when he had not been. But in spite of this, in his e mails of 20 September he asks to be placed on the NEC agenda 5 items, which he is only entitled to do as an NEC member, and asking for NEC seconders.

This inconsistent position is amplified in his e mail of 28th September, where he again claims that "there is no doubt in my mind, to Delroy Young or the listeners outside that I was expelled from the NEC."

Lisa Duffy clearly records the accurate and majority view of the events in her e mail of 11th September, "Once you were back in the room John Whittaker then informed you of the motion put forward and asked you if you would like to address the meeting in response. Dr Edmond I clearly recall that you said No John I would not, I am going to leave the meeting and prepare my defence and speak to my legal team in Freshfields. At NO point were you expelled or suspended from the NEC. At this present time you remain an elected member of the NEC and your response will be heard at the next NEC meeting."

Douglas Denny recalls in his e mail of 10th September "I remember well your voluntary leaving of the NEC meeting - which I highlighted to the members of the meeting when it occurred. You were in a position to engage in the proceedings, which you refused. Despite your refusal, you are being given further reasonable time and dispensation to engage in this issue I understand."

Rachel Oxley made similar observations in an e mail of 12th September:

“The circumstance of Dr Edmonds' leaving the NEC meeting on Monday 8th September are exactly as described by Lisa Duffy, Christopher Gill and Doug Denny. It was his express wish to leave in order to obtain legal advice before giving the NEC his response... Doug Denny remarked that Dr Edmonds had left the meeting of his own volition as he felt that it should be noted. The Forum frequented by some UKIP members and former members contains a rather different version- in which the NEC behaved disgracefully in expelling him etc."

She added further comments in an 22 September e mail: "It is interesting, isn't it, that Dr Edmonds should suggest agenda items and propose motions for our next meeting despite his having personally informed at least one British Democracy Poster (Sponplague) that he is no longer on the NEC, following his alleged 'expulsion'. He appears to be wanting to have his cake and eat it too, in gaining the sympathy & kudos that his alleged shoddy treatment by the NEC will bring, whilst still wishing to dominate the agenda.

"This is in contrast to claiming he was "asked to leave the NEC by Chairman John Whittaker" in an e mail of 20th September, and in a 10th September e mail declaiming "my outrageous, unjustified and illegal expulsion from the NEC".

1.9 Unreasonable demands for unrelated information

In his e mail of 10th September, Dr Edmond demands a range of documents, said to be for his legal defence as to his proposed expulsion, but which have nothing to do with the charge of 'unbecoming conduct'. They include details of the Party's financial transactions April to September 2008, issues around Alan Bown's court case constituting a further donation, and financial donations from the Ramsgate Call Centre for 2007/08. These demands he then copies to the Electoral Commission, to cause further trouble.

Proposed Motion to the NEC

In conclusion, in light of this evidence of unbecoming conduct by Dr Eric Edmond as an NEC member, the following motion is put to the next NEC on 3rd November 2008:

MOTION:

‘That in the light of Dr Eric Edmond’s unbecoming conduct as an NEC member, both during NEC meetings and through relevant e mails and other communications, that under Article 7.18.4 of the UKIP Constitution, Eric Edmond be suspended immediately as a member of the NEC, and remain suspended for the next three NEC meetings post the 3rd November NEC meeting. After that suspension period, Dr Edmond will be allowed to reapply to attend future NEC meetings, but will only be accepted back after a majority decision of the NEC and by Dr Edmond providing a suitable written undertaking to behave in a responsible and dignified manner during NEC meetings and through his other UKIP activities. Any breach of that undertaking would lead to the automatic and immediate resumption of his suspension from the NEC, through a further motion.’

Does the Democracy Forum engender real debate?

The UK Democracy Forum - http://www.democracyforum.co.uk/ has recently been criticised for its apparent scathing attacks on the UK Independence Party.

Having looked at this well put together site, Political Gossip UK feels, that without a forum on which UKIP members and non members can debate political strategy both positively and negatively, then little progress will be made within the anti-EU camp.

We are a little disillusioned at the personal attacks both pro- and anti-leadership supporters rain down on each other, but over-all feel that being able to freely debate concerns is healthy for the political process. There are of course dangers in revealing political strategy to ones opponents but bearing in mind that this forum appears to harbour mainly anti EU supporters, we would like to believe that a spirit of some co-operation could be achieved in fighting the same cause.

There is much amusement in our offices about the latest debate as to whether to allow a certain GL-W to repost on this site again. We understand this individual to be a true anti-EU crusader who possibly damages his arguement with smatterings of abuse and name calling. The poll appears at this stage to be slightly in his favour, though this could change at any moment. What is amusing to us, is that those who argue against his being accepted, apparently belong to a political party that emphasises its belief in freedom of speech.

For what it's worth, and without any influence in this matter, we would argue to allow him back and destroy him (metaphorically that is) in debate. After-all, surely no individual can be a match for the combined efforts of the full Forum membership?

What is happening at UKIP?

The UK Independence Party was seen as a revolutionary anti EU movement taking the UK political environment by storm. In 2004 it had 12 MEPs and almost 30,000 members gaining 16% of the national vote (above that of the Liberal Democrats - the UK's 3rd largest political party).

But today, it is a mere shadow of its former self. With only 9 MEPs (and others retiring prior to the next election), less than 10,000 active members and only £45,000 in the Bank (with potential liabilities in excess of £500,000 subject to various court case verdicts/appeals) one has to ask - where did it all go wrong?

Without doubt the rot set in when Kilroy Silk was led to believe that he was going to become UKIP's new Leader after the election, and when Roger Knapman, (an unimpressive ex Tory MP) remained in office, RKS left in disgust and formed his own Party - Veritas - which failed to get off the ground.

Roger Knapman, though probably a decent bloke was not up to the job of curbing the excesses of the true leader behind the scenes - Nigel Farage, or handling the media. The Party gradually declined through: a lack of vision; a lack of training; a lack of structure and no clear leadership.

Roger Knapman was replaced by Nigel Farage in 2006 after a bitterly contested leadership battle by the little known Welsh Chairman - Richard Suchorzewski - who appeared to have harnessed the votes from a majority of activists within the Party. It was felt by many, that the massive spending to launch Nigel Farage's campaign for leader in Bromley and dirty tricks from those who hoped to be rewarded, played a disillusioning part in the outcome.

Nigel Farage was a practiced public speaker and media performer but once his 'traditional 3 party pieces and cigarette papers are spent, there was, and is, very little substance underneath. His metiere is the 60 second soundbite. During his 2 years as Leader, the Party has significantly declined and 'underhand in-fighting' amongst the residual activists has demoralised the Party further.

UKIP is now gaining less than 5% of the vote in most elections recently, and has notoriously sunk to 0.3% of the vote last week. This, despite the increased media attention (little of it good) in which Nigel Farage has featured.

In the last 8 weeks a severely bitter Euro Candidate selection process has taken place with certain candidates having their deposits returned because of alledged lack of due process. Even the Returning Officer has recommended that selections be re-run. This has been ignored by the Leader and the NEC which Nigel Farage clearly dominates and controls.

A number of members have threatened, and taken the first steps towards, legal actions against the Party, which is already involved in a Judicial Review process (instigated by the Electoral Commission) and individuals (including the Leader) subject to OLAF enquiries/investigations. One MEP has been arrested and is currently subject to 'Bail' conditions.

On-going internal criticisms against monies collected by 'Call Centres' at Ashford and Ramsgate have caused further dissent within the Party as has the lack of transparency and trust of the members, exascerbated by the foolhardy appointment of a Non-UK Treasurer.

In the last few days UKIP has hit the headlines in connection with an offer from the BNP to agree a joint electoral strategy. Whilst the Leadership has publicly condemned this approach, it has not gone unnoticed by the media and others that some of the trusted members of the Party were former 'National Front' members and supporters and some of the current MEPs were candidates and supporters of extreme right wing politics. The Leader himself has used advisers with previous associations with such organisations.

Whilst there is no formal evidence of UKIP being in sympathy with the BNP, the outrage by NEC members at the BNP approach does appear, to the objective onlooker, as a little immature and over the top, unless it was 'stage managed' to satisfy the NEC decision to expel 2 of its elected bretheren who opposed the current leadership. This has been identified by some, as Nigel Farage's 'Reichstag Moment.' It is believed there will now be a set-a-side of disciplinary procedures and suspension of the Party's Constitutional justice, with its own 'Kristall Nacht' event.

The UK certainly needs a strong Party representing the popular desire to leave the European Union as reflected in poll after poll. (This, in spite of 40 years of pro-EU propaganda from a political elite and a largly subservient media).

The sad ending to this saga is that UKIP had its chance and appears to have 'blown it'. With charges of the MEPs having 'gone native' and only interested in their expense claims; the shambles of the party organisation and the numerous potential legal threats against senior members, this anti EU movement is failing. There are mutterings of a 'revival organisation' within the Party but it appears to lack any discernible and charismatic leader. It's doubtful it will be allowed to get past the 'starting blocks'.

An alternative is to wait for UKIP to fail at the Euro - Elections (which it most certainly will - with unofficial odds being placed on UKIP achieving 2 seats at best) and either a new Leader to emerge or a New Party to fill the vacuum.

Many feel this will be the stage at which the present Leadership will jump ship for 'greener pastures'. Time will tell.
